Painting with light
Painting with Light
This image has a blue light that is moving back and forth to create a weird allusion. The shutter sped we had on was 15s. We used a flashlight to create the painting. We achieved the image by using a fast shudder speed while waving the flashlight. The viewer would feel happy and amused looking at this image.

Fast Shutter Speed
This picture i am going to talk about is the one of Tina and I jumping into the air. The shutter speed I chose to freeze action was 1/1000. The action i froze was Tina and I jumping off a bench. The picture was taken on a self timer but wasn't taken very far away. The point of view was straight on. Line was incorporated in this picture where there is a bench and the lines of the bricks on the school. Also, my body is in a straight line, turning back, which is an example of line in the picture.
Slow Shutter Speed
I am using almost the same picture i used to describe fast shutter speed, but this one was taken with a slow shutter speed. The shutter speed i used to purposely blur action was 1/60. Our bodies show blur in the image, they show the blur at our hand, feet and head. It was the same distance as the fast shutter speed, which was not very far away. The image was also taken straight on. The picture also incorporates line in the same ways as the image i used for the fast shutter speed.
Depth of Field in School
Depth of Field in Studio
Depth of Field Homework
Shallow Depth of Field
The image I chose was of the fence on the track. The f-stop i had my camera set to to create a shallow depth of field was f2.2. I used ISO 200 and the WB was sunny.
Large Depth of Field
The image i chose was of the turf outside. The f-stop i had my camera set to create a large depth of field was f2.2. I used ISO 200 and the WB was sunny.
Comparison
I think the picture of the turf is better because of the angle i took the picture at. I also think the picture of the turf looks more interesting. You would want to use a shallow depth of field if you were focusing on something specific, and wanted that to be the main focus of the picture. You would use a large depth of field if you want everything to be focused on, and want the viewer to be able to see everything that's going on in the image.
Shadow and Reflection
Shadow
I took this picture of the trail, early morning around 10. The ISO would be set on 400 and the white balance is shade. The shutter speed would be set on a fast shutter speed. This photo is a trail in the woods; there are many shadows from the trees surrounding the trail. The sun casts the shadow. The space in between the trees and the shadows is the negative space, and the trees and the shadows are the positive space. I incorporated line, shape, patter, and texture to add visual interest to my shot. The lines of the tree add visual interest, and the trail leading towards the back guides the viewer’s eyes through the photo. The trail looking as if it goes back forever, and the shadow on the trail creates an eerie mood when looking at the photo.
