The lighting is coming from the side in this photo. It’s falling on the side of the models face. The light creates a shadow on one half of the models face. This creates a creepy type of feel. The model is looking straight on at the camera in this photo. This photo is a head shot, and most, almost none, of the torso is showing. The model is looking head on. My point of view was straight on. I was fairly close to the model, it wasn’t very far away. The lighting creates an eerie and creepy aspect to the photo. The models serious aspect is being shown. The photo I'm comparing it to is the one with the umbrella. We used different lighting, this picture has more lighting. This picture still has a creepy feel because of the way the umbrella is positioned.
Self Portait
I used a self timer to create this photo, and stepping in on the side. The location of this photo is in my living room during the day. I used the rule of thirds when taking this photo. I also used framing, by just being in the left side of the photo. The white balance was shape and the ISO was 400. This is just a photo of me dressed up and smiling, to represent that I’m a happy and caring person. My photograph was successful because it looks clean and neat, and not just a bad quality photo. My self portrait is not a selfie because I used a self timer to take it, and it represents who I am, it’s not just a picture doing the “duck face.”
